“The truth,” said I, “is that you believe in something higher.”
“The truth,” said he, “is that I am trying to believe.”
Alpha/Omega is loosely inspired by a short story of Argentinean writer, Jorge Luis Borges, entitled “Library of Babel”.
I say that the Library is un-ending. The Library is the Universe. The goal: to find a Guide, a map. A map to a Library. A map to the Universe. A map to our search. A map tells you where you’ve been, where you are, and where you’re going – in a sense it’s three tenses in one. Ultimately we are searching for that universal map.
Alpha/Omega is a live-cinema performance. The audience is invited to experience both sides of the story: the process of creation and it’s result. While giving an illusion of a traditional two-dimensional cinema screen, the audience gets a chance to plunge through a peep-hole, to be let inside a three-dimensional Library with all it’s inhabitants. The result is neither cinema, nor dance, nor theatre – but rather a fusion of the three.
